Payne Clermont Velasco Wins Lawsuit For Breach of Contract
Payne Clermont Velasco secured a resounding win in Happy Fish Co Ltd v. Tang Jeb Ming HCA1209/2016 and Mark O’Kane v Tang Jeb Ming 1948/2016 [2022] HKCFI 3767
These two cases involved claims by Happy Fish Limited (an investment vehicle) and Mr. Mark O’Kane, a pilot, against Jeb Tang, a local builder/developer for breach of contract for failure to build and sell two valuable investment properties overlooking the Pacific Ocean in the South Lantau Country Park. The court cases began in the High Court of Hong Kong in 2016 and the trials took place before the Honourable Deputy Judge Jonathan Chang S.C. in 2022.
The learned Judge found in favour of the Plaintiffs and awarded them damages and interest, totaling approximately USD 1.2 million each, plus legal costs.
